http://androidforums.com – I need to no how to change the text message sound using like mymyxer.com i cant even change it even using zedge I did it once but cant remember how. I can change notofications but that dont help for texts. please help. (General)

Hi.

This is a problem that I hope you guys might be able to help me with.

About a month ago I changed my text message tone from one that I had created myself to a stock one that came with the One S.

I have gone to the settings -> Personalize -> Sound

But I think that I'm doing something right.

I've watched youtube videos on how to change the notifications sounds, but there's nothing on my phone that will change the text alert sound from the US Cell tone. I have no "settings" option when I open the message app menu. This can't possibly be the only tone!? I've only had the phone a few days, but it can't be that hard to change a sound, can it?

Okay, here's the deal.

I'm running Team Psycho's CM 10.1 ROM for Android 4.2.1

I flashed properly, and everything works fine, except for ONE thing.

I get no notification sound.

Does anyone know how to change the alarm sound in the stock alarm clock? I tried looking in Settings/ Device/ Sound, and in the clock settings. I also tried changing the default sound using Zedge, neither methods were successful, and waking up to a beep or buzzer sound in the morning makes me slightly homicidal.

I am using a droid DNA running Eva and Tasker. When I receive a text message eva jumps in and announces who the message is from. I want my sound on, but not that announcement. I wrote a tasker profile to go to silent mode when the messages app runs. I watch the sound toggle switch on and off but I still get the Eva sound message. Can anyone help?

Hey. I've had this problem with my Xperia Mini Pro ever since I bought it. When the sound is on, I don't want it to vibrate when receiving a text message. When the sound is off, I want it to vibrate. This is exactly what I chose in the Settings > Sound menu.

Hi, i just made the switch from iphone to android. I downloaded handcent and i was was wondering if i can get the notification sound to only beep when i have not opened the thread. Once im in the thread..the iphone usually just vibrates with every text i get while im still inside... but no tone unless i exit messaging and its a new text message.

Before the 2.3.6 update I would get a pop noise when I received a text message during a call. Now that I have upgraded from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 I no longer get the pop noise, so I don't know whether I get a text unless I look at the top of the screen to see if the text message icon is there. Anyone else having this issue?
