I have tried this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...6&postcount=49 and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...78&postcount=1 and it will get half way through then just stop with the android laying on his back with the red exclamation point.

My machine crashed (powered down unexpectedly) recently with an 8GB thumb drive attached to it. When it came back up I was trying to delete a file in one of the folders, but it kept telling me that the filesystem on the device was read only. Googling lead me to the third post on this thread:
