I'm having a problem with the stock messaging app.
It does not show the message notifications many a times. New messages can be seen in the app though.
Go sms notifications still working.
I've checked all the settings but they seem all right.

I only recently got my first smartphone, still busy setting preferences etcetera...
I managed to set a doorbell sound for notifications of SMS or whatsapp messages. That's great.
But tonight I was woken up by that stupid doorbell. When I looked in the morning, there was no message.
So I guess other notifications generate this tone, too.

I work on call therefore need to have my phone available to ring during the night. But what I don't need is SMS notifications, Facebook messages etc waking me up.
I've found various Apps but nothing seems to do the trick.
[FONT="Georgia"]Hello to all;I am a newbie to this site and I have a question and am not sure how to search the threads to see if anyone else has had the same issue I am currently having.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and I cannot get my text message notifications to make a sound.
My S3 messaging app notification doesn't seem to work. Every time people send me a sms I am not aware of unless i go into the messaging app. There is no sound and notifications and vibration. I checked this forum and none of the answers help.
My S3 is updated to jelly beans recently and thus, I don't have this notification box when I slide the top bar down.
I own a Samsung Galaxy 111. A fat white arrow with a black minus sign recently appeared in the top left hand corner of the screen. I've read that this means that the notifications have been turned off and that if I turn them on it will go away. I can't seem to locate where to turn them on.
Hi y'all. I had to turn off the vibration/sound for notifications on my phone because the spam messages at night kept waking me up.
However, I want it so that my phone can vibrate on receiving text messages when on vibrate mode. Unfortuantly, if I turn off vibrate for notifications, the text vibrates don't work either. Is there a workaround?
Hey,
Just a few issues. On my notification bar, Facebook/Facebook Messenger/Calls/Texts/Draw Something and pretty much everything else up there come through. However, whenever I get a direct message through Twitter or an interaction or an email from my email client, these don't come through on the notifications bar automatically unlike everything else.
