Ubuntu is great but I cannot edit HD video or compress video files. I tried video editing using avidemux but the audio comes out too fast. I am also trying to compress video files but nothing seems to work. I tried transmageddon and when I press the transcode button the progress meter doesn't move and nothing happens.
Editing videos on your smartphone can be quite challenging and frustrating. Magisto aims to make that easier for you with their new Android app now available for free on the Play Store. All you need to do is just shoot and upload a video from your device, choose a soundtrack, give your movie a title and Magisto will automatically edit your movie for you.
convert all common video files and HD video into the proper formats like video to MP4, video to MPEG, video to 3GP, video to MOD, video to MTS, video to FLV, video to MKV, video to HD video, and HD video to SD video etc.
I am working on an android based application, that play videos.
Basically what I need is video editing software that allows me to put together a video through java (or other languages), plugins or whatever method is available for doing so.
I want to put together a video using pictures, videos, music, transitions etc that are sent to the server.
I am not very advanced at this stuff.
I've had my HTC Aria for about a year now and I took a video that is about 1 minute long. I tried to upload it to Facebook but it didn't work. It would show up as a 2 SECOND video.
I tried watching the video again on my phone and it said, "sorry this video cannot be played"
I tried again but this time the video was GONE...
Does anyone have any suggestions?
What you're looking for isn't "picture editing" software. It's "video editing" software.Video editing is hit or miss on Linux in general. The most straight forward is probably Openshot. Also based on the same libraries but a little less intuitive is Kdenlive. If neither of those work for you there are several other video editing programs like Kino and p

I bought a h264 security camera system last year and set it up to ftp video to my computer. I was able to get the video to play (even though it played a little fast) on Ubuntu 11.04 using mplayer.
A few months ago, I did a fresh install of 12.04 and I cannot seem to get the video to play with mplayer, smplayer or VLC.
