Others on Google say they're not getting an image or poor quality but my problem seems even further. My operating system doesn't seem to even recognize the front camera. None of the apps have a button (anymore) to switch to the front camera including the official camera app. I have Android 4.4.2.
I'm running Dev's 3/20 version of CM9 which does not support front facing camera, and then accidentally switched to the front facing camera. Now I cannot switch back to back camera because the camera app has a black screen and then crashes whenever I open it. Clearing the Cache doesn't help. I really don't want to have to wipe everything and reinstall the ROM.
Just got my 14 X after coming from the 13. This isn't a camera complaining thread. I really like this phone. What I think is interesting is that it just needs some software tweaks. What I have is a hardware comparison between the front and back cameras.
The two pictures below are taken with the front camera and the back camera. You'll notice the front camera is brighter.
Basically, a few days ago, I started using the camera and tried to switch to the front one through Snapchat and it didn't let me. I tried to use it through the original Camera app and I didn't even have the option of the "selfie" or front camera. I reset the phone twice, deleted everything, restarted it several times and still nothing.
Changed the Touch screen 20 days back. Due to some misplacement of the Touch, Half of the Front camera is covered by the black spot. and screen never goes to OFF when i move the phone to ear. I left that as it is.
I have a Droid 3 through Verizon Wireless. Recently my front camera won't work... It gives me a message stating "Camera is unable to initialize." When I use my snapchat app the screen is just black when it's on the front camera... My front camera has always worked... and I've tried shutting it off. and taking the battery out. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling snapchat.
currently I am working with Android to load camera to my application. But, I face a problem.
On my application, I allow my user to switch from front camera to back camera and vice versa. During those process, if my user try to change/flip the camera to front or back camera, it takes so much time.
So I bought this broken HTC EVO 4G LTE on ebay and seller described that the phone fell of his pocket while riding a motorcycle and so the glass and digitizer broke (which doesn't matter for now), he also said that the Main/Rear camera stop working after a week of the accident.
Here's some pictures:
As you can see the screen is cracked and doesn't have a back top cover.
