I'm running Dev's 3/20 version of CM9 which does not support front facing camera, and then accidentally switched to the front facing camera. Now I cannot switch back to back camera because the camera app has a black screen and then crashes whenever I open it. Clearing the Cache doesn't help. I really don't want to have to wipe everything and reinstall the ROM.
I have a Droid 3 through Verizon Wireless. Recently my front camera won't work... It gives me a message stating "Camera is unable to initialize." When I use my snapchat app the screen is just black when it's on the front camera... My front camera has always worked... and I've tried shutting it off. and taking the battery out. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling snapchat.
So I bought this broken HTC EVO 4G LTE on ebay and seller described that the phone fell of his pocket while riding a motorcycle and so the glass and digitizer broke (which doesn't matter for now), he also said that the Main/Rear camera stop working after a week of the accident.
Here's some pictures:
As you can see the screen is cracked and doesn't have a back top cover.
i have flashed almost every GB rom and kernel combination i could find. For some reason my front camera does not work at all. I tried the stock camera app and the lg camera zip with no luck. when i switch to the ffc i get weird patterns and pink fuzz and then nothing can be seen. It also doesnt work for the video chat apps.
By the deault the front camera is rotated to the right by 90degree. I found a bug that you can do to rotate it back, not sure if everyone is aware of this already though or its an actual feature put in intentionally.
First, I'm running SlimBean 2.7 with the CM10 ffc patch and HoloLauncher.
Put your phone in landscape mode, then launch Camera and switch to the front camera mode.
I have a motorola Electrify. I have U.S. Cellular as a carrier, and whenever i click to switch to my front camera on any app, wether it be camera, or snapchat, ect... my screen goes black and says to visit this site and force close the app and try again.
I just noticed something funny with my front facing camera in lower light. I am seeing graininess or static in the front facing camera which I don't see in the regular camera. I turned more lights on and noticed there still appeared to be these lines in the picture but much fainter which is weird because just a few hours earlier I took a front facing photo outside and it looked fine.
