I have a good wifi connection and can make phone calls, but I can't send a text.
when I try to send a text, I get an error message that says "message not sent." with no explanation.
I noticed the data connection says "connecting...."
do I need a 3G connection to send a text? I thought texts can be sent with just a regular voice connection.
Been having trouble with my HTC Incredible S recently. Texts rarely send, and I rarely receive texts, unless I turn off all data, and constantly reboot my phone and/or send texts to myself to kick starts texts into sending and receiving. I'd buy a new phone, but am waiting for the Nexus 4 to come back into stock.
I have an factory unlocked/ OEM One X and use it on at&t network in NYC. No data. I have a plan with voice + unlimited text messaging.
My problem: I cannot receive picture people send me via text and I cannot send any either.
My APN settings are untouched and were set/ detected by the phone from the SIM.
Here they are.
Hi All,
I have recently bought a new Samsung S3 4G phone with Tele 2 carrier in Sweden.
I have problem sending Text message to anyone via new phone.. Please help or let me know if any more info.
Ok this has prob been asked before.
Why cant i send and receive data when going through my wifi.
I have the phone data on and wifi and i can receive pictures but when i turn phone data off and just through wifi, all i get is a box asking me to download then when i click it nothing.
Also if someone sends me a picture, do i get charged for opening it?
Please help as its doing my head in.
I recently ported my phone # from Virgin Mobile to Straight Talk with no issues whatsoever. I originally ported to an old HTC Aria and then yesterday I switched my AT&T Sim card to a newly purchased AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3. It worked for about 1 day before I started having issues sending texts. I have tried a million different APN settings today and I am at a loss.
My phone refuses to receive or send picture messages. I can get video messages, just no picture messages. It has a Download button and refuses to download. I tried clearing all data from Handcent and default Text Messaging through the application area, and that didn't work either. I've read that a factory reset would fix it, but I'd rather not do that as I have a buttload of apps installed.
Just switched to an AT&T Go-Phone $25 monthly plan (250Min. Talk / Unlimited Text, Pictures & Video / No Data) on my factory unlocked cell phone. The AT&T store setup the SIM card and handed it to me without touchng my phone or knowing what phone it was going in. Strange, but they didn't seem to care what GSM phone I was going to put it in.
Occasionally I cannot send or receive MMS messages. If someone sends me a text message with a picture attached, sometimes the picture doesn't show, but there is a download button (which doesn't work). Sometimes I cannot send text messages with images either. The message will just say "sending", but never change to "sent at...". Has anyone else experienced this?
