Everytime i connect my SGA to my pc (with kies running), it tells me that a newer version of firmware is available and prompts me to download it. then i choose to download and install the firmware, it then proceeds to download the firmware. but as soon as the firmware download is complete, kies disconnects with the phone and re-connects without installing the upgrade.

I would like to upgrade my I9070 to the latest firmware, i have the official correct firmware for my country (HK), but unfortunately Kies has stopped working via USB (Your device is not supported by Kies 2.0 - think this was after one of the last updates, but anyway i have given up trying to fix Kies).

Earlier I was trying to upgrade the firmware via Kies and something went wrong. My Note is now stuck with a " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". But when you try to connect to Kies via usb then nothing happens and is unable to connect.
What are my alternatives to get my phone working again?

I have an International version of Galaxy S3, which I purchased in the US a while back.
Today i received a message on kies that they finally released a firmware upgrade for my device, and so I started the upgrade process.
The problem is that the "Downloading firmware upgrade components" window seems be be stuck on 0% and doing absolutely nothing (the longest I waited was about 45
First I have a unroot and unlocked galaxy s2 skyrocket, I tried several times upgrade my galaxy s2 skyrocket to ICS through Kies Software but every time I have the same issue.
After Kies says that there is a new firmware to my device and ask me if I want to upgrade, Kies starts to download and reach the 100% but after that nothing happens, the phone reconnect again to kies and say the same thin

i want to transfer my sms and contacts to the s3 with kies. After chosing my newly created and not encrypted itunes backup off the iphone in Kies i get always the following error : "The backup information could not be read. Please choose a valid backup file."
Latest Kies Version and S3 Firmware Version. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I had a galaxy Apollo of 2 years. Today, I tried to update its firmware through KIES. After couple of minutes of downloading relevant files later, KIES hung. I woke up to find 98% downloading completed on my phone and KIES showing an error.
I touched the phone and it was too hot.
17+ hours over 3 days and nothing.
1. Clean install on both an XP and Vista system.
2. Latest version of KIES.
3. ESET NOD32 not only disabled, but removed entirely.
4. Tried all the ideas in the other two threads.
5. Different USB ports and cables.
6. As much as possible shut down any running apps on the phone, especially ONAVO and LOOKOUT.
It connects and KIES sees the phone.
GT I9100 unlocked. Not rooted
OS 2.3.4
Windows 7, 64bit.
Installed Kies, ran the Kies update but it will not recognize that my phone is connected. Ran the trouble shooting - nothing.
Would like to get the ICS but looks like I cannot.
Any workaround to install the ICS firmware?
