I was on CM10 but it had a couple bugs that I couldn't get over. I've feel in love with JB though and after going back to ICS I am unsatisfied. :/ any good JB ROMS for HTC Evo Design that anyone knows?

I'm using Android for a good 2 years now, I love the options you get with custom roms and custom kernels.
But lately I've been unsatisfied with many roms and I would like to learn how to build my own.
I already installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop specifically for the building of custom roms.
So far so good, but from here I need your guidance.
This is what I'd like to do:
This is a big one... I guess
Personally I can't decide if I sould go with AOSP or sammy based roms. I find pros and cons with both. I really like the features of the roms with full TW, but I hate the look and feel.
First off, I know where to go to find instruction on rooting, so I don't have any questions regarding that.
My main question, is should I? I would love to go the route of CM10, but I know there are a few other really good ones out there. I love my S3, and it is awesome. It's fast, Apps RARELY crash (when they do, the devs are quick to respond), great signal for both voice and data... but...
So, I know that internally Milestone2 and DEFY/DEFY+ are the same (chipset, CPU, GPU, camera module) and I'm absolutely okay with that. Latest CM10 builds work incredibly good on the DEFY. So, I know I would be happy with Milestone2 on CM10 experience pretty much the same :)
But! Other than internals... How good is the Milestone2? How good is the build quality?
I know what you might be thinking: best CM10 rom and not CM10.1?
But CM10.1 doesn't have the feature that I want, and CM10 does, so I'm looking for a good CM10 rom. Somebody recently mentioned Paranoid Android rom, but really I don't know anything about CyanogenMod. I just know that I'm looking for a rom with CM10.
So, could somebody please suggest a good CM10 rom for the SPH-D710?
Been looking for a fix for this, I honestly don't care for Sense Roms (unless you can mention a good looking one - So far SOS seems nice). I love JBL's Sprint 1.7 Rom and love it, but I can't receive MMS text messages, they fail to download - this happens with all AOSP Roms I'm using.
Anyone else encounter this issue with other AOSP Roms?
Not sure if I am alone on this and I am sure I will probably get a lot of heat. Our 7.7 has been out close to a year now (correct me if I am wrong) and I am a bit sad that there isn't much development on this tab.
