http://www.linuxforums.org – I am looking to have a simple application built that will open any given Adobe Flash .swf file and play it. Simple right? The device will connect to an HD tv through HDMI, DVI or whatever, the board will handle that. The important thing is that the linux os must be able to support high resolution video at dimensions of 1920x1080 (1080i) and without flickering The hardware will be 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom (x86) with 1 - 2 GB ram. Basically it is a nettop device (similar to the new netbooks) The idea of using an embedded distribution is not so much the os footprint for storage but to limit the cpu resources to allow for maximum performance while playing video with the 1.6 Ghz Atom processor. (HDD storage is not an issue.) What is the best linux distribution for this? Is it even possible? (HowTos)
