Hey everyone, don't know if this is the right place to post so sorry in advance.
I have a Gateway M520 from a while back, and it just won't charge. When I plug in the power cord, it is loose and wiggles around. I have to hold it in a certain position for the "charge" light to light on, but as soon as I let go, the light goes off.
I need the name of the screw for the HP quick deploy rail kit. The screw clicks into the square holes of the rack. It is a Gen4 Rail kit but the screw is like the Gen8 Rail kit ones. I called HP support, but they couldn't really help me. Unfortunately the rack manual does not name this screw either.
After googling a while, I found the compatible "Thumb Style Rack Screws".
Sounds like some sort of power saving feature to me... Does the laptop have an ambient light sensor? Try to put something over the camera. And does the same thing happen with the linux-lts kernel?

My power button is broken but I'm not sure it's the power button because I somewhat opened it there is a stripped screw so the volume side doesn't come off. When i put a battery in it turns on automatically and i even removed the power button from the motherboard little power button & tried pressing that power button

The gears keep turning,
a soothing sound
The screws are held tightly,
keeps everything bound
The machine runs slowly
no flaws to be found
When a screw comes loose,
things stop turning round
The music box song
makes a deafening pound
I installed SMXI on my laptop and ever snce then I've noticed an intermittent problem where it will not power off.Shutting down the laptop gives the appearance that everything is shutdown, i get the text display after selecting shutdown and the the screen goes black. There is something wrong with my phone, screws have a little loose. It is tiny torx screws, that is right, iPhone just use this kind screw. And something seems shake inside when holding it. I want to take it apart by my own. Once somebody used a set of screwsrivers, that is a nice assist.
I keep running into this problem on my Toshiba a305 laptop. I have run Ubuntu once before on the laptop with absolutely no problems. But all of a sudden about every other time I boot up the computer goes from the grub menu to just a black screen and the Caps Lock light is flashing. Then I have to hold down the power button to restart and try again.
