Stuck in GRUB Rescue Mode

http://askubuntu.com – I messed up my new laptop while trying to set up a dual-boot with Ubuntu and Windows 8.I did a whole bunch of stuff trying to get it to work and now when I try to boot I get stuck in GRUB's recovery mode with no errors. My question is: Can I boot from Ubuntu on a USB drive to erase both Windows 8 and Ubuntu to just install Ubuntu? Will this get ride of the GRUB rescue mode problem. (HowTos)

This is my situation:

I Installed Ubuntu without a CD (using A USB) Dual boot installation (Windows 7+Ubuntu) I did not like the installation and decided to boot into Windows and delete the Linux partitions, but I forgot to fix the mbr from within Windows.

Now, when I boot, I am stuck in the GRUB rescue limbo.

How can I boot into Windows from GRUB rescue?

I cannot boot from CD because I don't

My computer does not have a working CD rom drive, so I had booted from USB (used UNetbootin to make the USB) to install Ubuntu initially. I had Ubuntu working on my laptop (Gateway 7330gz), started messing around with it, and decided I wanted to start fresh again.

Server 12.04 boots to Grub CLI 51 weeks 3 days ago

Yesterday, I rebooted the server and it booted up to grub. Screen says 'Minimal BASH-like .... etc'. I've tried booting to the Server rescue mode from the install disk and tried reinstalling grub. I've tried the Boot Rescue Disk, still doesn't boot. I can get in and see all my files via the server rescue mode, but grub will not boot anything. No menu comes up, just the grub cli.

So I have 2 hard drives a HDD 320GB and a SSD 20GB. Before I had Windows 7 on the HDD and Ubuntu on the SSD but wanted to get rid of windows and reinstall a clean Ubuntu on the SSD then use the HDD for storage.

So I deleted everything from the HDD and set up the SSD with 18GB ext4 and 2GB Swap and installed Ubuntu on the 18GB ext4.

I had a dual boot with win 7, Ubuntu, and Linux mint. I deleted the two partitions for Linux and Ubuntu and extended the windows partition back into the unallocated space.

Hi people i really need help. Im a 14 year old noob so yea i screw things up a lot. Anyways, my laptop is a Lenovo U260 with specs so bad i feel like puking, so i have had windows 7 home premium installed at first, then i installed Ubuntu alongside with the windows 7. Afterwards i installed Linux mint and Fedora, which i then wiped out fedora from a partition of 40 GB in my hard drive.

I have a laptop on which I had Win 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 installed. The hdd has two partitions (one primary and one extended). Grub wasn't loaing initially so I ran the boot disk repair tool which seemed to sort it out. However, I mistakenly removed python (long story) from the Ubuntu OS and this obviously messed up Ubuntu a lot.

Hey guys, I'm a complete noob at Ubuntu and I have a dual-boot with Ubuntu 11.10 and Windows 7. The Windows Boot manager timeout is 0 so it boots straight to ubuntu and sometimes even skips grub but if I press the up key i think it is then grub shows. However Windows does not show up on it. There are three options. Ubuntu 11.10, Ubuntu Recovery, and Ubuntu 11.10 (generic mode)?

I tried to delete old ubuntu on dual-boot via win7 to get more win space (partition had non-ajacent NTFS free disk partitions and woldn't allow me to move in either gparted or win) and reinstalled ubuntu with alongside windows selected. I left about 1/2 NTFS and 1/2 ext3 before reinstalling ubuntu.
