On FireFox or Chromium any website. I have choppy streaming. I had upgraded to 12.04 and it went away but I have a rt2800 driver that cuts out 'packets' so I went back to 11.10. The 11.10 had always been choppy streaming, but I notice I may not have to put up with choppy streaming. I can run a DVD of my PC DVD Drive just fine 720P with no choppyness.
For some reason most of the videos on xhamster.com (full site) are very choppy. Am using broadband WiFi so bandwidth definitely isn't an issue. Anybody else had this problem and/or is there a solution? Never had this problem with the HTC Desire which is nowhere near as good a phone as my Galaxy S2 so I am very confused.
I have been away from the Linux world for a few years and am considering using it again now. When I last used Linux (the older Ubuntu-based Crunchbang) streaming video through YouTube and Hulu was often choppy even though I had the latest browser and Adobe Flash updates. On the same machine, the same videos would stream fine using Windows 7.
I have a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. When I go to Youtube (or any online video) and try to watch a video, the playback is choppy. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox, but that doesn't make a difference. I've noticed that I can watch 1 or 2 videos just fine, but anything after that is choppy.
I'm currently running 13.04 (I try to extend the little help I can by submitting bug reports) and the video is extremely choppy and pix-elated on any video program I run (vlc, mplayer, totem etc.), any flash or html5 videos, and HD videos won't play in a reasonable way at all (entire frames get skipped and video footage is completely distorted; I would say it's about 10 FPS on HD videos, really ex
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and while using Ubuntu (unity 3d) full screen video playback is very choppy. This includes, VLC, movie player, and to a lesser extent youtube videos. However, not all video playback is choppy: smaller-sized or windowed videos run smoothly.
I have found out no matter what rom i flash and with front viewing sensors off the video stock player continues to be choppy/skippy during video streaming play. Is this phone missing some kind of software codec? for being a new phone why is this an issue.
I have used VLC without problem for years on Ubuntu 10.04 Gnome, but I recently did a fresh install on the same computer of Xubuntu 12.04. Now I get choppy video in VLC, although audio is fine. The same videos play perfectly in Totem, but I prefer VLC. I also get slow response in VLC to clicking on menu items - like VLC is sucking up all the RAM/CPU power.
