It's a hardly any trouble but I still want to ask in case anyone knows.
I like to keep my Launcher clean with just two or three most common applications pinned. The strange behaviour is that new applications that are not pinned in the Launcher always open up at the position just above bottom pinned one.

I have Eclipse pinned to my dash, however when I launch it a second icon is created and each time I click on the 1st icon a new instance of eclipse is launched.
Do you know how to solve the problem?

There are several applications that are my standard go to applications that I always want pinned to the launcher, but every time I log out or restart I have to re-pin each application that I use. I only get the files, terminal, thunderbird and firefox that remain across sessions. How do I make my other pinned applications persistent?
I'm running Ubuntu 11.10. When I attempt to use the dash to search for an application immediately after log in, the search is unresponsive.
Question about the Google Music app.
I pinned a bunch of albums to keep offline, only to notice afterward that the 'stream high quality' was unchecked. Does this mean that the pinned songs were downloaded at a lower bitrate?
I now have the checkbox checked, but I'm not sure if I have to re-download all of my previously-pinned songs. That would be a huge pain.
Ubuntu 12.4 Apparent defect in dash. Unless I am using it incorrectly The Application Lens in Dash only presents a very limited selection of applications installed.
I have several programs that I use frequently and pin to the Unity launcher. I switch to them by using the WinKey+Number. Sometimes an open program that I am running that isn't pinned moves on top of a pinned program, thus rearranging the numbers. Anyway to stop it?

So i recently upgraded to 12.04 from my stable 10.04. I sort of like the idea of the dash and HUD because i can keep my hands on the keyboard more. It's especially faster when I know what I'm looking for (if im just browsing or i only know the category its slower... I have to go to applications, then filter, then scroll...
