Hi, i have an international Galaxy S3 (i-9300). I recently updated to Jelly Bean via Samsung Kies (baseband version I9300DXDLI5) and there's a change that has been bugging me. In stock ICS, when the screen turned off due to inactivity, pressing either the power button or the home button would turn on the screen and lets me pick up where i left off.
When ever I wake my phone with home button, then unlock, the next time I press the home button will fail. The second time and every other time after the faillure will work.
Anyone had similar issues?
Over three weeks in, I am still blown away by this phone as I am finding new features everyday BUT I am also having difficulties with my power button. As I read in the Sprint forum, some time ago, it was noticed that the power button seemed loose, 'rocky' on a pivot. Other Note II demo phones had some flexibility with the power button as well.
When my phone's lying flat on a table, it's easier to turn it on by pressing the home button rather than position my hand to squeeze the power button. When I'd switch on my Note 1, S2, and S3 this way, they'd wake up to the last used app screen, which is not necessarily a home screen. The Note 2, however, always returns to the main home screen.
I don't use any lock screen and I always use the home button to wake my phone up.
Since official JB, the home button not only wakes the phone up but it closes the app I'm in.
Just a simple mod I love. I know when I have the phone in my pocket it would turn on from the front "home button" being triggered (logged).
I don't know if you've noticed, but there is a little lag in the phone waking up when you hit the power or home button to wake the phone. I downloaded an app that wakes up my screen as soon as it senses that I am opening the flap. It is a LOT faster than hitting the power or home button.
There are a bunch that do the same thing. I tried a couple of free ones, but they didn't work.
Is there any way to disable the home button from waking up the phone? sometimes I don't take my holster with me so I end up putting it in my back pocket. Well doing this will repeatedly keep waking up my phone and using up my battery. Does anyone know if this is possible. I've looked on the phone and am not having any luck.
I was listening to music and the phone's display turns off after 30 seconds and I use the home button to wake it. The thing is it sometimes doesn't take me to the lock screen and just takes me to the app I was using, which is annoying since I pressed the home button and it then takes me to the home screen. Does anyone know why the phone wouldn't always lock when the display shuts off?
