Flash, sharply rejected by Jobs and Company, has moved on to Apple's competitors, hoping for a warm welcome and the promise of a place in the mobile market.

Adobe on Tuesday unveiled Flash Player 10.1 for Mobile together with a slew of announcements from partners and content providers. The new Flash edition has been optimized for efficient battery and CPU usage, addressing two of the key criticisms Apple CEO Steve Jobs had made of the platform.

The latest round in the spat between Apple and Adobe over Flash is one of Steve Jobs' occasional open letters, and Shantanu Narayen's retorts.

It's 2010. Mobile access to the web, either on a portable PC or on a handset is a reality thanks to WiFi and 3G. But we only have access to certain parts of the web, thanks to the widespread adoption of Adobe Flash.
