I need a shell script that can configure IP, Mask, Gateway, DNS´s & hostname in a guided step by step at the login of my linux machine on each boot.
Im running Ubuntu 10.2
Step 1: I am executing a shell script. (ksh myshell.ksh)
Step 2: ksh myshell.ksh is completed.
Step 3: After sometime say x as the time after completion.
Step 4: if x is 30 mins then execute the "ksh myshell.ksh" again
Step 5: continue 3 and 4 until 6 iteration.
Step 6: exit
Is a command that helps me to find the value of x in "step 3"?
X is the value I am interested.
I have a shell script with multiple sections in it. Like, verify pre-requisites, ch co version, stop services , install product , post migration steps, start services, send status email.
If the script fails at certain step, (like after product installation) it can't be re-run since the install should not be run before cleanup.
