Hello all. I am trying to find out if there will be any linux distro's that will detect raid properly and let you install Linux on it? I have two 64bit Raid 0 PC's that i would like to put Linux on. I have tired Fedora, Mandriva, Ubuntu and on and on with no luck. Note i am still a Linux newbie. I do have Vector Linux on two older machines that don't have raid on them.

In F17 and earlier I have been able to boot from install disk and then ultimately access a raid 1 and then do a custom install. I select a root partition and home partition, etc., and the size of each, always reserving some free space in the volume group that is on top of my raid 1.
In F18 install I can't even see any raid.

I need to install MegaRaid Software Manager to monitor my raid.
The official LSI instructions say i need to bodge it to install it on Ubuntu!!!!
But im stuck at step 1
1. check for the existence of /bin/csh. If it is not present, then install the Linux software component DEB that provides /bin/csh.This is available as part of Debian OS DVD.

Okay I'm at the ends of my wits. I have tried everything to install Arch onto my EUFI and GPT system. Arch is over documented without a simple step by step installation. I would like help in doing this. Read a ton of forums and tutorials but all seem to have problems (mostly out of date). It's starting to drive me mad as I have been at this for 5 days straight.
I'm having some trouble with my RAID array. I have tried to research this, but all I can find is how to install Arch Linux ONTO an array, not how to detect Windows on one, and configure grub for it. I have two SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration, which holds my Windows 7 installation. I then have two HDDs in JBOD.
I'm not sure if this should be in software or hardware:confused: See my previous post re /dev/sdb6. I decided to reinstall Fedora10 as the next step with the new m/bd. It won't install:mad: I did the check of the CD and even burned a new one. It starts with some text and then a black screen with a flashing cursor.
