Hello and welcome to Chakra! To answer no4, no you don't need to overwrite anything with new versions. Chakra is a (half) rolling distribution, so a "sudo pacman -Syu" will always keep you updated with the latest packages.

I see it's in AUR.  Did you try aur2ccr or http://chakra-linux.org/wiki/index.php/ … rch_or_Aur?As you may have seen, CCR is read only at the moment.  http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=9578
