http://forum.xda-developers.com – I've looked at multiple forums, not just galaxy 3, and I can't find an answer to this problem. I keep getting the "symlinks: some symlinks fail - status 7" error when I try to flash certain roms. First of all, I'm rooted and unlocked. I have flashed CM10 and Synergy before (couple weeks ago,) but now I can't install any of the synergy nightlies or JB roms. I've tried to install from internal and external sd, and failed on both. I've flashed CWM touch and non touch 6.0.1.2 as well as twrp with the same error message. I've flashed the cwm recoveries through Rom Manager and Odin wi (HowTos)

Very weird issue... Was running the paranoidandroid 2.17 rom beautifully. havent had an issue flashing any roms until now. Anyhow, tried to flash the 2.18 update, and yes i did full wipe, cache, dalvik, i get this error about symlinks failing. status 7 install aborted. I tried searching the forums for an answer to no avail. Now im able to reinstall the 2.17 rom fine.

I flashed a couple roms on my Nexus S but didn't like them so wanted to go back to stock. So to make sure I get the original update I flashed 4.0.4 on it. I set my phone up and everything and got the notification that there's an OTA. Of course I let it install. Phone shuts down, starts installing, CWM asks me if I want to run the untrusted file, I select yes and get a Status 7 error.

Hey can anyone help me fix the issue I'm having? I can't flash any CM10 , new sense build 7 roms..because it keeps giving me the status 7 error when I flash the rom zip file.. how do I solve this status 7 error? ..I am using latest twrp

Flashing minicm9 succeeds without any error.

Everytime I try install a custom rom, my phone gives me this:

Symlink: Some Symlinks failed (Status 7) Installation Aborted.

I tried everything, searched in a lot of post in xda and I can't find anything that help me to fix this problem.

Can anyone help me?

PD: I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.0

i flashed both synergy build 77 and galaxy mod rls1 yesterday, and neither of them will read my 64gb sd card. It always tells me that the card is safe to remove. i know it is not the card because i flashed cleanrom 3.0 and other roms and it worked fine with them. I also tried redownloading and reflashing twice to see if it was maybe a bad download or flash, but i got the same results.

just got the black s3 the other day and today i rooted then flashed cwm and cm10 with 4.2 gapps. everything seemed to go well until i did a reboot and i get an error message saying "system software not authorized by verizon wireless please turn off your phone and head to the nearest vzw store". i was like oh .

So I've flashed a few ROMs on my phone, and decided I liked CM10 the best. I was previously using Slimbean 4.1.1 and was in the process of re-flashing CM10. I accidentally flashed (I THINK) the RemICS 4.0.1 ROM and got a bunch of error messages. Panicked, cleared all data, dalvik cache, the whole 9 yards and flashed the CM10 zip.

Hello Genius developers at XDA!

I have a bit of an issue I got my hands on a Droid Incredible running stock 2.3.4 and decided to root it. I unlocked my bootloader using HTCDev, downgraded to 2.2, rooted, flashed CWM, flashed the unrevoked forever s-off patch, flashed superuser, then began testing custom roms.

As title says, I can only flash Venom ROM, no other one is allowed. Every time I try, I get an error (Status 1) in TWRP. Do you guys have any similar problems/ways to fix it?
