http://askubuntu.com – I'm wondering if I've found a bug in ifupdown, but I wanted to ask here before reporting a bug: /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart seems to fail to emit static-network-up if any virtual interfaces are defined. This causes a 2 minute boot delay in /etc/init/failsafe.conf. Consider, for example, the following interface definitions: $ cat /etc/network/interfaces auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp auto eth0:1 iface eth0:1 inet static ... auto eth0:2 iface eth0:2 inet static ... When the list of interfaces is queried (as in if-up.d/upstart), the virtual interfaces are incl (HowTos)
