I've been using MonoDevelop for programming in C++ because Code::Blocks has such pitiful support on Ubuntu, and I've managed to keep it through my switch to Fedora 18. Now I'm beginning to wonder if Code::Blocks is better than MonoDevelop on Fedora 18.
I'm starting to think how to set up the most convenient environment for programming, with the following conditions. I run Linux Mint 14.
I've got a computer at work but would like to have access to my code from home computer and notebook.
I'd like to have an opportunity to roll back any changes I do in case I break the code, that is having several versions of each project...
it's been a while since I think about starting to programming in C and after that to learn programming in C# and I search a lot on google but couldn't find a good guide to start learning base programming in C .However I found that Eclipe integrates very good with Ubuntu and it's a good programming environment for starting to program in C but somebody can give please some links with guides or tell
I'm dual booting 12.04, and Win7. Just a tiny bit of background, I'm starting to get more and more interested in programming and 3d modelling, so I'd like to learn more about ubuntu as a result of those interests. Still a complete newb though!
Anyway, When downloading on windows, I get 1.5mb/s easy. Now I swap over to Ubuntu, and it hasn't topped 150 kb/s since I installed it some 6 months ago.
Hello, I am a new user on this website and I would like to say I want to pursue programming in the future.
I am currently in highschool taking a computer science course. I would I am at a intermediate level at Python (understand basic commands, format, etc.)
My goal is to get a good understanding of the concept of programming before going to university

I am using ubuntu 10.04. I have installed code::blocks, because I have read many good comments about it. But I have a problem: The code::blocks I installed wasn't the latest version, because I used apt-get install to download it. So here is my question: how can I update code::blocks to the latest version from the terminal( if it's possible ).

HI, i'm new to the Linux system. One of my friends recommended me to use Linux for programming. On my windows OS i used Code Blocks and i want to do the same with Linux. I run into the problem that i have no idea on how to install it on Ubuntu. I have used the software center and installed the SFML window,system, and graphic but i have no clue how to compile.
I know how to create a program that records the names of the windows a user uses on Windows 7.
