http://crunchbang.org – @lowrider - no need to drop tint2 - start xfce4-panel,  grab a fresh looking menu button in the menu-settings and remove the colored icons, then go to panel settings and remove everything except the button and make it transparent, reduce bar size to size of the button and set size the same as tint2, align it left (default), then change tint2 size to leave space on the left for just that button and tadaa - have a configurable auto-updating left-click menu while still having full working tint 2. only problem is it highlights the menu button grey when moving mouse over, but you can change tha (HowTos)
