Kitsy Lane, an Etsy-style social commerce platform startup that lets its users open their own internet boutiques selling jewellery or accessories, has announced it’s closed a $3.5 million Series A funding round, led jointly by Data Point Capital and Longworth Venture Partners.
SocialFlow, the makers of social marketing optimization technology that helps brands determine when to post their messages to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, as well as which messages they should promote, has today closed on $10 million in Series B funding.
Kabbage, which provides working capital to online merchants, has raised $30 million in Series C financing led by Thomvest Ventures, the venture capital arm of Peter Thomson, the founder and managing director of Thomvest Ventures and a director of Thomson Reuters. UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund, Mohr Davidow Ventures, BlueRun Ventures, Warren Stephens, and David Bonderman participated in the round.
Extole, a startup offering tools for brands to manage their “social advocacy” programs, has raised $7.5 million in new funding.
The round is a follow-on to the $10 million Series C that Extole raised about a year ago, and it comes from existing investors, including Shasta Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and Trident Capital.

Janrain, a company that develops a social log-in management platform for developers, has raised $33 million in funding led by Millennium Technology Value Partners with Split Rock Partners, Epic Ventures, Salesforce, as well as existing investors Emergence Capital, RPM Ventures, DFJ Frontier and Anthem Venture Partners participating.
Capillary Technologies, a social CRM company that helps retailers engage over mobile, email, social and in-store channels, is announcing the close of $15.5 million in Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital and Norwest Venture Partners with Qualcomm Ventures also participating in the round.
EAT Club, a Palo Alto-based food delivery service launched in fall 2010, has raised $5 million in Series A funding in a round led by August Capital.
Palo Alto-based publisher platform ShareThis, the maker of those “social sharing” buttons scattered across the web, is today announcing having closed on $23 million in Series C financing, in a round led by T-Venture, the venture capital arm of Deutsche Telekom.
