Spotify is a streaming music service that previously was only available to Windows and Mac users. Spotify offered a way for music lovers to enjoy their favorite tunes on their computers and gadgets legally. But Linux users were left out in the cold... until July 12.

Spotify yesterday released a preview version of its peer-to-peer (P2P) music application for desktop Linux, packaged as Debian Squeeze/Ubuntu 10.04. The software shares most of the features of the Windows and Mac OS X versions of Spotify, but requires Spotify Premium membership.

News broke out today that Spotify would be making a beta version of its web player available to all of its users in the UK, with the promise that a full release would come later this year.
I’m not complaining that I’ll soon be able to access Spotify through my browser.

This is a preview build of Spotify for Linux. As a preview release this version is still unsupported, but we're running it ourselves and will try to make sure it keeps pace with its Mac and Windows siblings.
So how do you get it?
So I tried to install Spotify for Linux (http://www.spotify.com/us/download/previews/) using instructions from around the web and this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...=spotify+linux
I noticed most everything worked but system got hung up on the "aptitude" command.
