If you are a regular user of Windows or Mac OSX, you will feel like being lost in a strange world in the first time you install and try Linux as the operating system for your computer.

Hi people, im a linux user from brazil :) sorry about my english, is not the best :)I've been using linux just for about 2 by now... i've teste many many distros, my first one to really use was ubuntu, then i changed for xubuntu and used it a lot... than i used linux mint 13 xfce...
A few days ago, a BBC journalist was on air saying that Ubuntu was "a whole sort of little community of enthusiasts building operating systems for absolutely nothing." Since then, as you can imagine, he's had some angry emails from Linux users, so Canonical sent him over a laptop with Karmic Koala Netbook Remix installed.

Hello California Ubuntu users!
I started a Linux User Groupin my high school in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. As of now, we have 10 interested members in our group, but it's quite hard figuring out how to get started right now. Some of the members don't even own laptops!
My first agenda is to have more Ubuntu users.
A talk being delivered
Following the success of last years' event, the Spanish KDE community again held its national Akademy event, Akademy-es 2011, between the 20th and the 22nd of May 2011 in Barcelona. The event was sponsored by Google and Qt/Nokia and was supported by the Linux and Todo-Linux magazines.
At the end of this month Zonker, our openSUSE community manager for the last two years, will be leaving Novell. On behalf of the whole openSUSE community I would like to take a moment to thank Zonker for all the great work he’s done.
