Speeding up iceweasel/firefox

I've skimmed through this (old) and this (not strictly relevant). Is anyone finding the default/latest Iceweasel 8.0 in #! r20111125 32-bit very sluggish, particularly on JavaScript-heavy pages like Google Reader or Twitter?I'm running #! on a quad-core machine with 2GB of RAM.

There's been a number of people looking to install Firefox in Statler. Even though it is essentially the same thing as iceweasel, users are reporting that iceweasel is somewhat slower than Chrome or Firefox.Thankfully Clem at Linuxmint is now packaging Firefox for Debian. At the time of writing it is at version 3.6.8 which is more up to date than iceweasel which is at 3.5.11.

Hi,Here's the thing.I recently installed waldorf (3.2.04-486) onto an old pc with great success. So I thought I would do another install onto a newer pc.

I did a fresh Wheezy netinstall (created new / and /home), added OpenBox and a other packages, and then moved to sid. No #! anywhere. No #! in apt.sources. Installed Iceweasel beta from the Debian Mozilla team repos.Iceweasel homepage is http://crunchbang.org/start:/

I am very happy with the latest !#cb which in my case is the openbox version. Just one thing which I wonder others may have experienced. It seems to me that compared to 9.04 running firefox 3.5, Iceweasel seems to take forever to open webpages.

The Kindle Cloud Reader (apparently) works in Firefox (since version 4 I think, which was released when? Last week? :)) but I am not able to get it to work in Iceweasel 11.I've used it previously in either Chrome or Chromium, so I know it works.
