binutils is a package. Use `rpm -q binutils` to find out if it's installed or not (I'd be surprised if it isn't). Use `rpm -qi binutils` for more information about it and `rpm -ql bi... [by TrevorH]

I know I have binutils installed on my Ubuntu VM, and can verify it with:
sansari@ubuntu:/usr/share/bug$ ld -v
GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.22
I installed it a while back. Now I am trying to build for a different platform, and I should be able to use the same one I installed. Right?
in section 6.13 (lfs-book-7.4), i have a problem to building the binutils.
i exactly follow the building steps, but i received these errors during building:
