I'm having issues setting up Wake on lan on my computer running 12.04. I have followed several tutorials explaining how to set it up, but none have resulted in success. I have enabled the wake on lan feature in the Bios, but apart from that haven't made any noticeable progress.
I have a lot of problems with my computer HP G60-445DX that started with a little error. Well, before this, I've used Ubuntu and Windows 7 happily in a dual-boot (65 GB for Ubuntu, 220 GB for Windows) with no problems. But 3 days ago (aprox.) my computer had a forced shutdown due to low battery state without notice and since my computer has been strange and different.
I am building a small office network with virtual machines. My schema is this:
Computer A: gateway, ip 1.1.1.1, iptables used for NAT [eth0=public internet dhcp, dhcp; eth1=gateway]
Computer B: client, ip 1.1.1.2, using gateway from Computer A.
NAT is working, and Computer B can access the internet using the A's gateway.
I reviewed a lot of other post but nothing so far seems to work for me. My problem is similar to those that used to happen with wpa/wpa2 security and ubuntu. The thing is that my computer is having issues to connect to my wifi, but the security protocol that I'm using is WEP.
I have an big problem.
My usb-devices works if I plug them in before I start my computer. But if will plug them in after or if I plug it out and in it does not work any more.
It's really annoying. If I want something from my usb-drive or want to use external mouse I have to plug it in before my computer starts.
Please help.

my wife's uses this computer solely for checking emails / light internet use. She regularly does the recommended updates. Tonight, she ran the updates and shut off her computer. We logged in later to check her email and it said her Wired connection was disconnected. I know it is not a problem with our ISP because my computer works (obviously, i am posting from it).
