I need to be able to rapidly deploy Ubuntu VMs for testing. Using Redhat Enterprise or Centos/Scientific I'd use Kickstart and Satellite/Spacewalk. It seems that Ubuntu only has limited Kickstart support, and their Spacewalk equivalent is Landscape (a paid for service), which has no free alternative.
Can anyone recommend any Ubuntu deployment/management tools?
From Spacewalk server ( from UI), I could install packages on client only after executing "rhn_check" command on client; until then, it simply shows the action as pending.
Date and time are synchronized. Keys are working fine. I didn't schedule it to later time. I selected "Schedule action as soon as possible".
Of course we can write a script or something, but obviously something is wrong.
My RHN Satellite (Spacewalk) server is having issues with monitoring. the Spacewalk Monitor Scout will not push out successfully. It always stops with a Request Expired status. I cant seem to find any error logs.

I do have a problem in subscribing channels for client machine in spacewalk. If I go to "Alter channel subscriptions" page of a VM, I do not see any channels to subscribe. It just shows "None (Disable service)".

But, author Jason Brooks adds, while the server management tool makes sense for users coming from a Linux perspective, it suffers from some configuration hiccups, due in part to the challenge of integrating two different distributions....
I am looking for a guide to configure multicast addresses on Windows server 2008.
Could you point me to any good ressources? Preferably via the console as I need to configure multiple addresses on multiple servers.
