Hi folks
On F11 a USB sound card got recognized immediately and began to be used.
On F12 the same sound card is listed but still all the 'dings' and 'dangs' of the OS as also all browser ( youtube ) sounds are heard from the PC speakers.
Hi,
I'm trying to install OpenSuse 11.3, everything went fine untill last step : configuring hardware. So my install hangs up at the point "starting sound card" (well it is in french, but it should be this translation in english).
Hello, I just installed ubuntu 9.10 last night, and I am trying to get sound to work, but it isn't working :(.
I have been working on this issue for several days now and still cannot get my sound card to work. Basically, I have a Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D sound card installed in a PCI slot and I am unable to play any sound through it. Note that I have the on board sound disabled in the BIOS. Also, it is my understanding that this sound card is supported as of kernel 3.5.
I've just upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10, and I can no longer play music (or sound, I guess) quietly.
I used to be able to have the volume all the way down, one step up from the very bottom, and sound would come from the speakers or headphones at an appropriately low level. But now it doesn't come out at all.
See the attached pic to see how high it has to be before sound comes out.
Hi there,
I recently updated to 11.2 - everything is running smoothly, except sound with Flash in Firefox.
I installed the latest plugins (32 bit also) from Adobe's website and download.openSuse and checked that the volume is cranked up - no sound with Flash videos (youtube and the like).
When I log in, the welcome sound plays.
After OpenSuse 12.1 64bit upgrade to OpenSuse 12.2 their is no sound however test sound is played in KDE Phonon application.
Under the root account sound is working normally.
I have a fresh install of openSUSE 11.2 64-bit with all updates installed, however there is no sound from my Xonar DX sound card. In Hardware Information, the sound card is shown as "Virtuoso 100 (Xonar DX)". How would I get my sound card to work?
I am having great difficulty getting my applications to share sound. I've tried many things, but the sound will quit if I, for example, try listening to music and a system sound plays. I don't know exactly what sort of outputs I should post in order to get a diagnosis. Just let me know. Sorry, I'm very new to openSUSE.
