I have two different sound devices for output:
"Internal Audio Analog Stereo" for headphones
"High Definition Audio Controller Digital Stereo (HDMI)" for speakers
For example: if I open a music player and start a song, it plays out fine from speakers. But when I try to control volume it controls "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" instead of HDMI.
I'm using a Motorola S305 Bluetooth headset with my laptop. It works great.
I have enabled "simultaneous output" in PulseAudio Preferences, I run pasystray(pavucontrol for volume), and want to use both HDMI-output as well as internal output in different application at the same time, but sound configuration (both pavucontrol and phonon) only lets me activate 1 device at a time (by selecting card profiles).
Sound problem, no HDMI output
Hi all,
Ubuntu 12.04 desktop 64bit
ASUS mobo M5A97R2.0
audio Realtek ALC887
I have been struggling more than a week unable solving the sound problem via HDMI output.
On sound setting
-> Output
HDMI/DisplayPort disappears on "Play sound through"
I have another HD on this PC running Fedora 17 desktop 64bit. There is no problem on sound output via HDMI.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my ACER Aspire 5738. There are two options in the All settings > Sound section through which the sound can be played, 1. Digital output (S/PDIF) (Built-in Audio) & 2.Speakers (Built-in Audio).
Hi, I have a problem with my sound output connector.
Whenever I log in, the default sound output connector is "HDMI" (when I look in the Sound Settings under Output) and my computer's HDMI port is not connected to anything. When I try to play any sounds the speakers on my laptop emit no sound.
I''m running Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on my laptop with an external Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro sound card plugged in via USB.
If I have output selected to stereo output then everything plays fine in stereo. However if I select surround 5.1 output then a fast clicking sound emits from all speakers, both when playing or sound or not.
I just downloaded and installed Linux Mint 13 Maya ( the MATE edition) today and I think I really like it. However, one problem occured that when I tried to play some music with Banshee, there was no sound at all.
Hi,
finally I've managed to get 'a display working' and in addition the displays looking exactly the way I want them!
Now another issue has arrived; my displays have built in speakers which work via audio 3.5mm stereo cable or HDMI digital input.
The HDMI digital input was working fine while I had Fedora 15 installed but now with the upgrade it is gone :(
The normal procedure I use (wo
