Running 11.3 on my HP DV4-1220US the sound worked fine until I installed the Broadcom-wl wireless drivers then the sound stopped. I was able to get the sound working again by reconfiguring the sound drivers in YaST but it is unreliable and often stops working and I have no volume control in the system tray. Here is the output from the varous scripts and commands
I had to reload my sound drivers because ubuntu had stopped recognizing my sound drivers and I got sound back except from banshee. I have played videos and those worked fine. Everything else seems to have sound. I checked the volume within banshee and it was all the way up. I tried upgrading banshee and it the highest upgrade. I tried downgrading banshee and same thing no sound.
Hi all,
i have a sound problem on my pavilion I read some posts and finally installed alsa drivers and everything was working fine on the session after the driver installation. After shutting down and switching on my laptop the sound was working on the login screen but not on the rest of the session.
I installed arch linux on my brothers computer. I am using XFCE. The problem is, sound doesn't work right. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't work more times than it does. Usually all he has to do is CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to get it fixed, but sometimes it doesn't fix it. I have not installed ANY sound drivers or anything.
Hi,
So a few days ago my sound stopped working all together on my Ubuntu 9.04 system, and since then I did some tinkering with the drivers to try and get it going again.
I attempted to install pulse audio to avail, and also tried installing alsa-driver-linuxant-1.0.20.3_all.deb
To upgrade my asa drivers.
my sound is not working.
I am running Quetzal. I have the xfce desktop environment. The relevant drivers are nvidia in origin.
My speakers are on and plugged in. The green plug is in the green input. I have gone through Alsa and have made sure everything is unmuted.
It had been working for a week (just installed ubuntu a week ago).
Hello, I just installed ubuntu 9.10 last night, and I am trying to get sound to work, but it isn't working :(.
Hello everybody, how are you?
Yesterday I have installed fedora 17 on my computer. everything worked great.
I bought today a PCI soundcard and installed Realtek sound drivers.
Unfortunately - I installed it with a root privileges.
Since then - I can't use sound. I'm not able to use any of soundcard.
I downloaded the linux realtek drivers from the realtek site. When I installed it through ./install it gave a bunch of error messages and now I have no sound! How do I reset to use the original fedora sound drivers. In XP it is so easy: go to device manager and click uninstall --> on reboot it will install the default drivers.
I have no sound
