Sony recently announced the new Xperia Miro, a 3.5-inch entry level device with a 5MP camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This is a great device for people not wanting to spend a lot of money and just want a decent phone.
When it comes to releases, Carphone Warehouse seems to always give us a good indication on dates. Sony already announced the Xperia E budget phone, but didn’t tell us anything more than to expect it Q1 2013. Well Carphone Warehouse has a page to pre-register for the dual-SIM device, and it clearly states that it’s expected February 2013.
A Vietnamese video shows the Sony Xperia TL, currently on Ice Cream Sandwich, running Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2. The video also shows a new lock screen, updated launcher, ClearAudio+ mode and an Xperia V-like Superior Auto mode on the 13MP camera.
If you loved what you saw in our hands on with the HTC One, the UK site Clove is ready to take your money. Pre-orders for the 32GB One are available for both colors, Glacial Silver and Stealth Black. The phone will set you back £425 (about $658 USD) + VAT. Clove expects to receive the unlocked and SIM-free handsets March 15.
With Sony’s first 4G phone being debuted at CES in the Xperia Z, they plan on releasing plenty more 4G this this upcoming year. John Featherstone, the head of Sony’s mobile business operations in Oceania reportedly said that “Around 8% of our phones for 2013 will be 4G…all of them around the mid- to top-tier devices.”

Sony Xperia P owners will be happy to know that Ice Cream Sandwich should arrive between August 19th and August 25th according to Sony Mobile India. They originally estimated that it would hit in the second-half of August so it looks like everything is on schedule.

As a follow up to last week’s Xperia P Ice Cream Sandwich rollout, Sony Mobile today announced their 2011 Xperia line of phones will be getting new Android 4.0.4 firmware. Starting this week, the first phones to receive the update are the Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia mini, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Xperia ray.
Earlier today Sony announced the release of several new devices during their IFA press conference. The Xperia T will be the new flagship device in the Xperia line with a 4.6-inch display, 13mp camera capable of recording full 1080p HD video, a 1.5GHz dual core processor, and initially Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Apparently just asking Sony for an ETA on software updates works sometimes. Sony responded, via its Sony Xperia News twiter account, to a tweet regarding the pending Jelly Bean update for the Xperia S by saying it would provide details in mid-December.
