We’ve already seen Sony’s Xperia SL in the wild, but today the Japanese manufacturer has finally made the elusive smartphone official. An exact release date isn’t announced, though the device is now listed on the company’s official website as “coming soon”.

It was back in January that we first got our hands on what was to be Sony’s first smartphone after parting ways with Ericsson – the Xperia S. Shortly after it’s unveiling at CES it was released in select European markets and until now hadn’t been available anywhere else (unless unlocked).

  It appears there is yet another Sony Xperia smartphone is on the horizon folks. Also known as codename ”TaoShan“, the Xperia L (model C210x) will be a fairly modest smartphone and feature the typical run of the mill budget-level specs.

We just showed you the first glimpse of Sony’s Xperia ST21i “Tapioca” handset, and now courtesy of Russian site Mobile Review, we get several more pictures of an early ST21i prototype to inspect.
