http://www.linuxquestions.org – On my Android phone* I have three sets of contacts: the SIM card, the phone itself, and Google(R). Can someone explain how all of these interact with each other? My previous phone was a park-it-pc with win-doze 6.1. I had all of my contacts on SIM, the phone, and whatever ActiveSync does. When I got my 'droid, I simply moved the SIM card and started using the phone. Now my contacts are all messed up as viewed at the phone. Also, I can copy SIM contacts to the phone and edit contacts only to have then vanish when I touch SAVE. Within the contacts app, I have the settings such that all of SIM (HowTos)

Hi, A few months ago i started using GO Contacts. Back then, I had my contacts stored on my SIM. Later on, I moved all the contacts to the phone, and deleted them from the SIM. Forgive me as I'm fairly new to android after having a nokia for many many years.

My phone recently upgraded to version 4.1.1 with no problems.

However... in regards to my contacts... it merged all my sim contacts with my phone contacts... which I'm quite happy with by the way.

My question is tho... I have made changes or added new numbers to my phone contacts since the upgrade...

Hey Guys, I got all my facebook contacts numbers synced and it comes in contacts but its not coming as phone contacts. Only when it comes as phone contacts i can use them in other apps like Viber and Whatsapp. Its not practically possible add and each very number manually (1800 friends :O). Is there any way to copy facebook numbers to phone contacts or likewise?

I recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S2 to ICS. I use google contacts to manage my phone numbers and I have my contacts set to only display contacts with phone numbers when I view my contacts.

However, why I start a search on my contacts it searches everything on my phone. It searched my sim, all email addresses, everything.

Hello all, I'm having an issue syncing my contacts and I would really appreciate some help. I have my phone set to sync contacts with my Google account; however, whenever I add new contacts to the phone they are never added to my Google account.

i have the contacts.db file backed up from my old android phone on my pc.

is there any tools that i can export the contacts.db into csv format and then i can import data back to my new android phone? how can i do it ?

other than contacts. can i apply same method to sms , call log db etc ?

Hopefully someone can help me setup my contacts the right way, because apparently I must be doing it wrong.

When I first got my phone and it sync'ed to my Gmail, it looked every single person I've ever emailed in my phone book. I had thousands of contacts that I had to manually delete.

Just got updated to JB and my contacts are all messed up.

When the Sprint person transferred my contacts from my old Android to the GS3, all my phone and google contacts got *linked* and since they were *almost* duplicate, I ended up with most contacts having duplicate phone numbers and emails.

Is there a way to un-link them, without having to do it one at a time? (I hope so).

I know that when you put contacts into your android phone, it automatically syncs them to your Gmail account and you can import or export them yadda, but I'm on my computer on my Gmail account and I cannot find any of my phone's contacts!
