On XFCE, I do not find an application for digital camera. When I was using KDE, there was the digikam
How do I import photos from my camera? Thunar does not even show my camera, as USB device plugged-in.
But, When I plug the camera, on the right hand corner, a message, 'camera detected' is displayed, but not shown by Thunar / file system.
I have seen some references that tumblerd which thunar is apparently using can create thumbnails from embedded exif thumbnails in jpeg files. However, this does not seem to work for me, it seems it is reading the complete huge image files to create thumbnails.
Using Thunar, I find that the main Thunar package won't identify and display all my media (optical disks and USB flash drives) without some other piece of software, and I've never figured out what that other addition is. I thought it was thunar-volman, but that doesn't allow it to recognize my media.
Searched far and wide for some remedy to this. Any constructive assistance much appreciated.Anyone familiar with how to create suitable command line under Thunar volume manager "camera" tab, to initialize image file contents of XD card in USB-connected camera?Presently there are no signs of life from XD card when camera is connected via USB.
