I am glad that was helpful! If after a number of reboot you see that the USB to PS/2 adapter does the trick, please, edit the title of your first post adding a heading [SOLVED], otherwise post back for more troubleshooting..
If the keyboard switcher is in the Tint2 systray and you didn't put it there...you're running off a Live ISO, aren't you? If so, the only way to get rid of it is to edit and rebuild the ISO image, which takes quite a bit of work.

Is there any way to manage the icons in your systray? It's not highly important, but it annoys me having icons there that I don't want or use. It seems a little strange that it's so easy to customise just about everything else, but I can't for the life of me find a way to edit the systray.
^ it is good that you have found your workaround...please, edit the title of the first post adding a heading [SOLVED]...and if you head over to the Introductions sub-forum you can get a proper welcome... p.s.: in case something would mess up in future, smxi could be helpful to install/uninstall proprietary video drivers...
