Thanks for the quick response. It's not the answer I was hoping for, but at least I can move forward now.
I think moving/renaming the folder would be a more practical suggestion. Better yet, open ff from the console with -ProfileManager and create a new profile.
Glad your experience was better than mine. Maybe I had a bad board.
From what are you trying to chroot?
I also had a problem installing the extention pack. I think I ended up installing it through the command line, but I don't remember the details.
ls > less should have clobbered less, not ls. But if you need to fix ls, reinstall coreutils.
FYI, the quotes were needed because the '^' is interpreted specially by the shell. I think it's "caret substitution" but I'm not familiar with it at all.
LVM LVs are not partitions.
