Hi everyone,
I've had my Galaxy Ace (Model:GT-S5830, Android Version:2.3.3) for a few weeks and after filling up the 2GB memory card that came with it decided to upgrade to a 16GB card.
I recently set up a PC with ubuntu and ran into problems with the PCI wireless card being detected but not working correctly. The PC dual boots with XP which works fine with the wireless card. I followed up the PC card on various wiki's but the pages come up as not existing, so the only option seems to be to use the ndis wrapper.
Here's a weird one for you. The apps on my SD card are not showing up in the APP drawer. They icons for them on my homescreen are there - kind of, it says the name of the app but shows a standard android icon. I can press it but nothing happens.
Computer specs
Intel E8200 Dual Core
MSI G45M MB
Ultra U12-40739 PCI Expansion Card - 2 SATA Internal Ports, 1.5Gbps, RAID 0, 1, JBOD
6 GB DDR2
Q1. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Amahi, for using Grey Hole, last night. The two disc on the raid card do not show up under Ubuntu 12.04LTS but they do show up under grey hole so I know the drives and the raid card are working and there.
When I add a VGA card for a 2nd monitor, then reboot, I get no display at all.
The original monitor works fine from the VGA on the motherboard.
Just recently purchased the LGOG today instead of the S3 and im quite satisfied however, while i was flashing my first ROM on the device it was giving directories like there was a second SD card i looked and indeed it came with an extra 16GB card? o_O i bought it from Costco, idk if this was an original item or was i just lucky? cuz now i have 32GB of space!
I was trying to discover why my device is showing double or triplicate files in both the music player and the gallery. So I unmounted the sd card and rebooted the device. This resolved the files from the external sd card being referenced multiple times in those apps.
But then I went to look at the internal storage while connected via usb to my pc.
I just replaced my EDUP 802.11b/g card, which was damaged but still working, with a Netgear WG511T This card claimed to double the speed (SuperG), to 108 Mb/s ... after getting the card, I looked up the info, and found that the drivers to do that only worked in Windoze XP or higher.
Does anyone know of Linux drivers for this card?
hello all, 1st post so be gentle!
