I am using Lubuntu 11.10. When I call the context menu (right click) many programs appear to open some file.
For example, for .tex files, besides TeXstudio and Leafpad, Gnumeric (what a strange option!) and text editor also appear.
So, I'd like to remove those bad options.

I have created a custom action in the Thunar file manager to change my wallpaper using Feh. The problem is that there is already a right click entry for changing wallpaper in Thunar but it does not work because I'm not running XFCE. Is there anyway to remove this option from the Thunar right click menu. Thank you for any help in advance.

If you look online for this you will find a lot of ways for Windows XP to fix the Shift right click (Link) context menu option. But for windows 7, I couldn't find anything.
Thunar has an option to add context menu custom actions to open Terminal, or to open folders and files in different applications.
Could it be possible to add a menu custom action that would open Thunar itself as root?

I have three mouse buttons on this old ibm t23 laptop, which may be the problem, but if I go up to the top menu with the icons of open programs(don'[t know what it's really called, sorry) : left click does nothing, right click brings up the main menu, with "run program", "terminal", etc.

Sometimes the menu is full of unnecessary programs that you’ll never use, and having it there won’t do you any good.
Getting started:
Lately I've been having trouble with the right-click obmenu menu: it immediately closes when I let my finger off the mouse button (instead of staying open & allowing me you browse). Usually after a few tries it stays open just like it should. Any ideas what could be causing this?
