Hello. I have the following problem. While I can read any file on gedit I can save it(save buttons are disabled)! I get the following message:
Quote:
Changes to document "Untitled Document 1" will be permanently lost.
Saving has been disabled by the system administrator.
I have reinstalled gedit and deleted all config files.
I'm trying to edit the /sys/class/backlight/max_brightness file to stop ubuntu 12 returning to maximum brightness on each reboot.
gedit won't save the file after I have modified it I have used chown to change ownership to me which was successful.
I then changed gedits settings so it won't save a backup but it still won't save.
It returns with this error,
Could not save the file /sys/class/backlig
I currently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04.1 64bit and installed Gimp 2.8.2.
Then I found a serious problem. I use NAS to store all my work files and access them via Samba file sharing, but when I try to save a file over the network in Gimp 2.8, I get message telling me the location is not found.
I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 as a dual boot with 9.04. I would like to edit the grub config file to get rid of all the superfluous menu entries and put the 9.04 entry before the 9.10 one. With 9.04 I can edit menu.lst as sudo gedit menu.lst and save it. When I sudo gedit grub.cfg I am no allowed to save the file. I get "You are trying to save to a read only disk" error.
Hello,
I'm having an issue with my galaxy s3 using the Firefox browser. When I find images on the Web to save, I long press them and select "save image." At this point two different things happen.
Either the image saves to my phone, but when I attempt to attach it in a SMS a notification comes up telling me it is the wrong file type.
I have an Asus transformer but have never used Android before, only PC.
When working on files, I do not understand where the "save as" button is, or where to give it a filename to save with. All it says when you click "save" is "saved". I then have to go and find my file and move it to where I want it and then rename it.
I have a text file that I can change it using other applications (for example openoffice). But when I try to change and save it using gedit, I am getting error from gedit:
Could not save the file /media/sf_Ubuntu/BuildNotes.txt.
Unexpected error: Error renaming temporary file: Text file busy
the permision of BuildNotes.txtx is as follow:
-rwxrwx--- 1 root vboxsf 839 2012-10-26 12:08 BuildNotes
Greetings.
I am trying to save a file to a usb from solaris 10.
If I do rmformat, I see my usb, but can't find a location to tell things to save to or figure out how to save/view the files on the disk.
Any help/thoughts/etc would be appreciated.
Thanks!
~K
Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did a few searches around the forums and there didn't seem to be anything that was specific to my problem. I seem to be unable to save pictures from Chrome on my Galaxy S3. This happens only with some pictures however, and usually from Google Images.
