If you are using pulseaudio you can get this by modifying /etc/pulse/default.pa, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=607393#c15 for details, e.g. :load-sample-lazy x11-bell /usr/share/orage/sounds/Tear.wavload-module module-x11-bell sample=x11-bell
I got my wlan AP working now and i also tried to use netcfg to configure the interface, at last i noticed the SKIPNOCARRIER='yes' option so i can configure the interface before starting hostapd:CONNECTION='ethernet'
DESCRIPTION='wlan access point'
Are you sure it is that setting that is doing that with your applications? Apparently there is a bug with xorg-common-server and xorg-server packages in combination with Nvidia GPU's that mess up fonts. I had that problem and had to downgrade from the 1.14* to 1.13* set and it solved it.
@cleanrock, i am using nvidia, but it seems like i'd be having issues with X in general if that were the problem, no?@wonderwoofy, he did not post a link, he mentioned a topic to view, but i went ahead and made the pic a link.
