I have been using mpd for a long time now and absolutely love it.
However, I recently added a few video files to the mpd database. Now I understand mpd won't play the video files, I don't want it to.
But when mpd plays the audio track of the video file, there is a lot of static noise in the output. My other audio files work perfectly with mpd.
I am appending 2 mp4 files together using the following routine:
ffmpeg -y -i one.mp4 -vcodec copy -vbsf h264_mp4toannexb -acodec copy one.ts
ffmpeg -y -i two.mp4 -vcodec copy -vbsf h264_mp4toannexb -acodec copy two.ts
cat one.ts two.ts >> joined.ts
ffmpeg -y -i joined.ts -vcodec copy -acodec copy -absf aac_adtstoasc joined.mp4
This works fine, however when one.mp4 has no audio stream (
Hi, I was given the following instruction to convert an MKV file to AVI (Fedora 14):
mencoder abc.mkv -oac pcm -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=886 -sub ITC0101.srt -subfont-text-scale 3 -o zzz.avi
When I plug this file into my DVD player the TV plays the audio but no video.
Since we're discussing cell phones anyway, I'll throw this one out there.
Has anyone noticed that totem in the new F18 cannot find the video decoder (even though they are installed) and just plays the audio? I tried playing files encoded with xvid, h264, and RV4 and totem says it needs to find the plugins. Ultimately it cannot find one and plays with just the audio.
I've installed all the codecs from gstreamer and gst123 plays both video and audio fine.
I could really use some help with this. I have an older Shuttle SB75G2 system I still use a lot (specs to follow). It worked fine with Mint/Ubuntu up until Mint-10/Ubuntu Maverick.

When ripping a DVD with MEncoder, the progress goes over 100%, why is this happening and how can I get an accurate progress.
