Hi, I need to open images most times with my standard image viewer, but sometimes with gimp or another program. I could use "right click" and "open with" in Nautilus, but I want to customize a shortcut, for better performance. Is that possible?
I work on Xubuntu 12.04 with Nautilus as default File Manager.
Hi all,
I've been using gnome for years but recently I have switched to xfce and along with it came Thunar, as the main file browser. I'm fine with it, but I dearly miss the "nautilus-image-converter" extension that enabled me to quickly resize and rotate images in nautilus.
Nautilus preferences that is. I've seen a lot of banter about the newest Nautilus so I started poking around. Actually I was looking for alternative file managers. Strictly by chance, while running Nautilus, I clicked on the word "Files" just to the right of "Activities" at the top of the screen and I was presented with a drop-down box.
Hi all,I have a strange behaviour, that is, for example, when plugging an external USB hard drive, audacious starts instead of Nautilus..... what's happen? Incorrect file association?

So... my default File Manager is Thunar. However, after installing Transmission, if I right click a torrent and select "Open folder" it opens it with, surprise, Nautilus !I had no idea Nautilus is installed. How did it get installed, why, how do I make transmission open with my default file manager and... do this kind of things often happen ?
In Nautilus I click on a file and right-click the mouse but the "Move To Trash" is grayed out even though I have rw access writes for the file. Why ?
I can open a terminal and execute 'rm TheFile' successfully.
Is there some setup in Nautilus I need to do to have it allow me to delete a file ?

I am having trouble configuring & running Shred, from Nautilus.
I have the Shred icon when I right-click on a file, but when I use it to, say, shred a .avi file on my desktop, it says "location is not a folder". When I use Terminal command, it says "no file or directory found".
The path used in Nautilus config.
