It has been discovered there are problems (with security implications) in the way segments following Start Of Scan and Define Huffman Table markers are read in libjpeg-turbo (CVE-2013-6629 & CVE-2013-6630).
IJG's jpeg library, as shipped by Slackware, is also vulnerable to CVE-2013-6629.
The Independent JPEG Group released version 7 of their jpeg library Independent JPEG Group
I downloaded a prebuild binary (alien arena) that was dynamically linked to the newer libjpeg.so.7 witch is not available at the SUSE reposetories, I'm cautious about doing ./configure & make install from the jpegsrc.v7.tar.gz
I am new to linux. I am using fedora f16 x86_64. I was using terminal from root and used yum to install some packages. I also wanted to reinstall the libjpeg package. I used yum erase libjpeg but deleted 300 other files/packages along with libjpeg. I then used yum install libjpeg.
The yum history shows only 1 package installed and 300 erased.
Yes, they're all there, I've also tried with my own pictures, they don't work either.Oh yeah and some of them work, like 3 of them, reason: they're PNG.Seems to be an issue with jpeg, tried reinstalling libjpeg-turbo with --force, nothing, still the same.
