Hey there,
I've got a Samsung NC20 netbook, which shipped with Windows XP as standard. I created a Ubuntu USB start-up key, and proceeded to install Ubuntu on this netbook.
Hi all,
I have recently bought a Sony Vaio Netbook VPCW12S1E, with Windows 7 Starter installed on it.
I would like to install Ubuntu's Netbook Remix on it. I have made the bootable usb stick, but the problem is I can't find how to enter it's bios to make the netbook startup from usb.
New to Ubuntu, but after installation of Ubuntu 9.10 my screen on the netbook (VIA 1024x600) does not work. It gives a distorted signal, unreadable. When I connect an external screen the display shows a perfect picture. I noticed I cannot select a resolution of 1024x600 in the display settings. Could this be the problem?
Hi,
I've been a reader of the forum for quite some time, but only registered today - as it's been two days now that I've been struggling with my new netbook...
Came all bright and shiny with Windows7 starter or something pre installed on it.
Hi , I'm quite new to Ubuntu, I recently broke my laptop and in order to get back online cheaply I bought a second hand netbook. I installed Ubuntu (ubuntu 10.10 netbook remix)in order to speed it up a bit as windows 7 was too much for the 1gb ram.
Hi Community, I own myself a Hercules e-cafe ec-800 (yes, I know, lame duck) which I use for text processing and surfing (in spite of the bad performance). I did install UNR 9.10 because of the fantastic desktop. Screen resolution is 800 x 600, nearly ok, but I would like to switch to 1024 x 600, because that's exactly the fitting screen for that netbook.
I tried installing Ubuntu on my netbook through a bootable USB a few days back. After installation I happened to use Ubuntu for quite some time and later shut down my netbook.
When I tried booting the netbook again, it just shows a black screen with a blinking cursor after the initial Asus screen. I tried opening BIOS by pressing F2 but it ain't coming either.
What should I do?
I have an issue that has me very confused. I have a generic Intel Atom n450 netbook with the integrated Intel n10 graphics chipset. When I use a live usb to book the netbook, ubuntu detects the screen resolution (1024x600) properly; but after I install ubuntu it detects it as 1024x700. How do I get it to detect the screen resolution properly after the install?
Thanks in advance
