I installed Mint 13 Cinnamon today. I already have Windows XP installed. Now the problem is that the grub bootloader does not appear. Instead when I start the PC I see "Frequency out of range - 90 K / 59 HZ" on the monitor and after a while Mint loads. I posted this problem on the Mint forums too but no solution yet.
i have a problem, i have dual boot system with windows 7 and ubuntu. i decided to try out linux mint. but after a while i removed it by deleting it´s partition. when i restarted, the bootloader didn´t work anymore. i reinstalled linux mint so that i could use my pc again. but i really want to remove mint from my system. is there a way to delete mint and still be able to boot in to ubuntu ?
hello all,
well , I made a real bonehead move today. I had pc set up to boot Mint, Ubuntu and win7. Ubuntu and Win7 on a SSD and Mint on seperate 1 TB HD , I also have a 2TB storage drive.
At first, Windows 7 was the only OS in the drive.
Then I installed MINT. Accidentally, I formated the sda1 partition (where the windows 7 bootloader was stored) as ext4, being the mount point of /boot.
I have a 4-boot config on my comp. Just erased a partition and want to throw in mint 12 inside of it. No DVD's or USB's near me.
It is possible to install linux mint 12 in other partition, without DVD or USB?
I am at linux mint 9, I have downloaded mint 12, and mounted as a DVD. What now? Can I run the installer from mint 9? How? Where it is?
Hey there, I installed Linux Mint in a dual boot with 12.04. 12.04 was first and then using the partition tool I created a new partition for the Linux Mint, everything loaded up fine and LInux Mint is running smoothly.
Hi,
I just installed Ubuntu alongside Linux mint. I thought I would be able to run Linux Mint but for some reason I can't. When I first installed Ubuntu, I assumed I would be able to run Linux Mint because it told me it would be installed to run along side of Ubuntu.
So, now I have a problem. how do I recover Linux Mint? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
I was running two separate partitions of Linux (Ubuntu and Linux Mint) and Windows XP when I deleted my Ubuntu partition through Easus partition manager on XP due to simple stupidity. This erased my Grub bootloader, but I managed to install Grub Legacy from my Linux Mint Live CD.
I have been using Ubuntu 12.10 for some time now, and I kinda hate it. 12.04 was a lot better. While i can still revert to 12.04, I am thinking about trying out Linux Mint based on 12.10 (the Nadia version). I have not tried Mint before.
The question I have is, can all 'Ubuntu' based packages be installed in Mint also, without any issues?
