[SOLVED] HP Laserjet 4L with Ubuntu - can't make it work

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi everybody, I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and I'm trying to print via my old HP Laserjet 4L over the network. I have a printserver running, and altough I can print perfectly fine via Windows, I can't get it to work via Ubuntu. I have downloaded the PPD File for the printer from http://www.openprinting.org/printer/HP/HP-LaserJet_4L, entered the IP (192.168.10.106) but when I try to print a test page, all I get is "remote host did not accept data file (32)". The printer state varies between: "Processing -- connected to printer" and "remote host did not accept data file&qu (HowTos)

All right, this is driving me nuts.

I have an HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi connected to the ethernet jack on a D-Link DPR-1260 wireless usb print server - so the print server acts as a wireless bridge. I can't get any Ubuntu box to print to the LaserJet. Windows XP and Vista laptops on the network print to it just fine.

Hi all. I'd appreciate any help making my printer work. When I print a test page or a text file, nothing is printed. The job appears in the print status list and the stays there forever.

graphical interface successfully located my epson stylus 110 printer and downloaded the drivers. I printed a ubuntu test page. The green light is on-on my printer, but when I select something to print, and see the logo "print executing" and and the bar completed, it doesn't print. On the print queue behind the above printer logo, it says " printer stopped ".

I recently got a Canon MF3010 laser printer and am unable to print after installing the drivers. I'm on Ubuntu 12.10, 64bit.

After trying to print a test page, the Printer State in the Printer dialog says "Idle - Sending data to printer." Any idea?

hello I have managed to install the LaserJet 1000 HP printer in ubuntu but its still not printing I'm using ubuntu 12.04 lts from the live cd

I plugged in the printer Ubuntu picks up the printer says it need the plug in then proceeds to automatically downloads the plugin and asks me to accept the install which I have done The LaserJet 1000 clearly shows up in printers menu shows up in printers

I bought the epson xp-405 printer, and I am trying to succeed in printing via usb. I've followed these steps here but it doesn't seem to work. The thing is that when I am clicking print, even a simple txt file, the window that displays the printing dialog closes and simply nothing happens.

After this, I click, Printers (at the Dash) and then double click the printer.

Ive installed my printer and everything seems fine including the test page but am unable to print anything else.The item in the print queue just stays on "processing" with the printer doing nothing

Ive installed HPLIP downloaded from the HP website which allows me to configure the printer and did it manually so as to enable parallel cable connection

I just installed OpenSuse on my machine which had Windows. Everything works except my printer/scanner. I don't really need the scanner, but I absolutely must be able to print. It's a Lexmark x2500. OpenPrinting.org suggests using the pbm2l2030 filter. I've set this up with the printer configuration in Yast, and I have to manually select the driver.

I'm having trouble with my HP Laserjet 1020. I'm running Karmic beta, but had the same problem under Jaunty...

If I plug the printer in, it seems to install fine. It uses the Foomatic driver. To print, I have to uncheck "sharing".
