I installed kile from offline installer and everytime I want to run it, I need to go to the install directory and then run it
cd /home/usrname/kile-install
./kile
is there anyway to add a command so that this process is automated?
i.e i want to type "kile" in the terminal and it should open kile.
Edit: tried modifying .bashrc file
added the following lines to .bashrc
PATH=PATH$:/home/usrnam
When I try to use Kile's open file dialog (File->Open, ctrl+o, or the open icon), a blank window with the title "Open Files - Kile" appears and hangs. I have to kill or end the Kile process. The only way I can open files in Kile is to drag and drop from a Nautilus directory browser.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and after splitting a single tex document into multiple files I noticed a strange bug.
Hi,
I need to do some stuff with latex and I heard, that Kile is a good Latex Editor, but I also heard that it is not recommended to install software originally developed for KDE to ubuntu or any non-KDE using environment.
Can someone please help me, as I have to have this work done by friday?
My alternative would be using a Live-USB in persistence and installing Kubuntu an Kile to that (tried
Hi.
Kile is giving me a bit of trouble. Most of the entries in the Settings menu have vanished most importantly, the entries for configure Kile and configure shortcuts are gone.
Dear people,
Who is using Kile (LaTex system for producing scientific pdf articles) ?
Up to recently it was fine - I could install it alone and use it. Now I still can use it in F17, but why is yum installing all the KDE basic utilities like konsole, konqueror etc.
Running kile 2.1 on kubuntu, kernel 2.6.32-45-generic.
Always viewing pdf output in okular.
kile was running smoothly for a long time. With last set of updates, kile does not build PDFlatex anymore.
I just updated to Ubuntu 12.10 but now LaTeX doesn't work any more. Kile always asks me "did you run LaTeX?". I'm quite new in this stuff, so it seems a bit strange for me, because in 12.04 it worked always without any exception.
I also tried it with other Editors, but there were similar mistakes, so I guess it is related to the upgrade.
Perhaps anybody of you has a hint.
Hello everybody, I'm a very new user of Latex just learning the ropes and I'm thinking there must be a way to get my sections and subsections to populate the Contents panel in Okular, or it's equivalents in other pdf readers, from Kile ie with Latex.
So if this is possible and you can share how to do this, I've google'd it but to no avail, I would be much obliged.
