I am trying to install some new themes in xubuntu 12.04 and I cannot seem to make them work.
I went into my home/username folder and created a .themes folder and extracted them all there . but they do not show up in the appearance tab in the settings manager.
so after some digging i found the standard themes in usr/share/themes.
But I cannot move my themes folders into the usr/share/thems folder.

Hi,I'm using lxappearance to change my gtk theme on the few applications I use that don't have a CLI.I'm looking for a dark, easy to the eye theme but there is none in the themes proposed by default by lxappearance.Where can I find other themes for lxappearance and how do I set them up?Thank you.
I recently got back into linux with a fresh install of ubuntu 12.04. I purged and removed Unity and installed gnome-classic and some gtk2 themes. I know people run into problems where the themes do not show up in the advanced settings menus, but I have not seen anyone post or get a solution for my particular situation. I checked /usr/share/themes and the themes I installed are there alright.
Hi,Not really sure how to go about adding themes in Waldorf. Pretty new to openbox, and just not sure how to go about it, the significance of GTK3, etc.So could anyone please explain how themes operate in Waldorf, and how they are installed and configured? Thanks a lot. I guess its just adding theme packs to a folder somewhere, but not sure what format I need:)
I currently have Fedora 18 with Cinnamon as my desktop, and I'm looking to install GTK themes so I can change how my windows look. I did some searching and have not come up with results that have helped. I do have a .themes folder for Cinnamon themes, but can't find a way to get GTK themes so I can use them.
Hi I'm pretty new to Ubuntu but I got to know some advanced stuff pretty quick. I've already installed GNOME 3 shell and the Advanced Settings for Gnome. I downloaded a GTK 3.4 theme and put it in my home/.themes folder, but I can't find it in the GTK themes section of Advanced Settings. I've googled it and used the forum search but nothing helped.
